In Making the Cut there are twelve contestants competing against each other in every one of the ten shows of the series. To be selected as winner, the designers are placed in different cities and surroundings and need to give proof of their capabilities through the best look they can produce in a given framework and time. The judges at the end of each episode choose a making the cut winner from all designers. As well one or two candidates who had the least convincing design delivered need to leave the show. At the end of the show there will be twelve winning outfits, but only one winner left in the show to win the prize money of one million dollars.
